Our Story

Stain began as a small experiment a decade ago when  Mrs. Sanchoita Sen (Founder, Manufacturing), was 70 years old. It was her dream and passion that started Stain. Joined by daughter-in-law, Chandra Sen (Founder, Operations), a decade of labour and love - Stain grew, one saree at a time. Her contemporary artist daughter, Mahua Sen (Tech Founder) built it for scale and invested her own aesthetic vision into the project. Stain has arrived now, expanded in its outreach and potential and yet committed to preserving the tactile joys of a slow-crafting process.

All Stain sarees are made one piece at a time. All our textiles are handpicked, and all sarees are handcrafted and/or hand-dyed. Every edit is a long process of evolution, learning, and experimentation. Some sarees take weeks, others months — we never hurry. Each piece carries the essence of the joy and peace we experience while making it.

Here's hoping our sarees always remind you that honoring dreams can keep us young forever.
